Let me know what you think of this single~ I've only heard it once, so I wouldnt be able to give a very conclusive review ^^ & why in the world is the single title so darned long??? x___x

[ *eternal melody* | ~San~ - Kagrra, ]

Kagrra,'s 3rd full album, and 2nd major-label album, ~San~ was released on the 20th of July. I'll attempt a short review of ~San~, since I'm still very much speechless when it comes to describing the album ^^;;;  Btw, I dont profess to know alot about Kagrra, and their music style~ I'm merely a fan smitten by the beauty of their works... and the review below is basically MY OWN opinion and feelings written in appreciation of their music, so please dont kill me if I suck at it~ ^^;;;

1. Murakumo

Murakumo is like WOAH. Kagrra, just topped their Miyako opening track with this very very interesting and gorgeous track~ It rocks! and kinda sets the mood for the album~ You sort of expect great things after Murakumo [and I dont think anyone will be disappointed. Really ^^] It starts off sounding really dark and moody <3 Izumi's drumming enhances the traditional Jap feel unique to Kagrra,. Isshi's voice goes so well with the whole atmosphere of the song and when he starts singing... *bliss* I cant describe Murakumo~ I go all incoherent.

2. Gen'ei no Katachi

Genei remix is good ^^ Its not much different from the single version, though I think they placed more emphasis on the bass line this time around... which is always good. I love Akiya's guitar solo lines~ It always sounds so clear, effortless, & beautiful ^^

3. Ibitsu

Dark and moody~ courtesy of Nao's impressive bass work. He basically carried the song throughout. The guitars are made to sound low and moody with Shin's occasional acoustic touches. Woah for the guitars <3 A solid track, Isshi's voice is a lovely contrast to the darkness of Ibitsu.

4. Oni o Awaremu Uta

Um... the only inconsistent song in my opinion <.< It's nothing all that impressive~ but its ok and not something I would skip *pats Kagrra,* I'll probably end up loving it anyways~

5. Satsuki

One word. Gorgeous. I think I might have found myself a new favourite Kagrra, song ^^ I looped this song close to 50+ times on my Zen over the weekend the pv was 1st released [& thats not counting the loops when I'm on my laptop]. ITS REALLY REALLY GOOD. Satsuki takes up all my attention the moment it starts playing. The PV has a really artsy feel to it [Kagrra, seems to have matured beautifully] <3 and as usual~ I just love the Kagrra acoustics, Shin does wonderfully once again ^^ & Isshi's voice!!! ^o^ *dies* Perfect.

6. Boufura

I cant seem to describe Boufura. Its atmospheric, with Isshi's voice often only accompanied by Izumi's drumming until the chorus where the heavy guitars and bass cloud over. Boufura seems overshadowed by Satsuki I guess. It flows almost deliberately and slowly, providing a contrast to Omou, which is lighter and less foreboding.

7. Omou ~San remix~

Another one of their singles, Omou was released sometime last October and is my reigning favourite Kagrra song [along with Urei]. The only difference between this version and the single was probably them emphasising everything~ Isshi's voice, Nao's bass, Izumi's drumming, etc. There seems to be alot more happening within the song since everything is amplified. They managed to make the remixes sound a lil more dreamlike [mainly Isshi <.<]. I dont know, but I think I prefer the single version of Omou~ It just sounds clearer and less cluttered. But that doesn't mean the San remix is bad~ Omou is and would always be beautiful.

8. Meguru

THEN IT GETS EVEN BETTER!!! Meguru is LOVE because its so unique~ from the very first note to the very last. Meguru bags the award for being the most musically interesting/unique piece on this album <3 Catch Aki's guitars! It rocks! ^^ AND do I hear a koto? <3 <3 <3 I love the koto~ The music arrangement for Meguru is awesome... I want to know who did it [most probably the entire band]. Isshi's voice is flawless. As usual. Duh. Nao's bass is more prominent this time around especially in Meguru <3 Nao RULZ!!! *loves Nao*

9. Izanai no Jukai

A faster paced song following the calmer Meguru, Izanai no Jukai is a classic Kagrra, track ^_^ Even without Isshi singing, you'll recognise the music immediately. It's a strong song that will stick in your head and you'll probably end up humming it for the rest of the day. Addictive~ be warned ^^

10. Himitsu

Himitsu starts off with non-Kagrra-ish sounding riffs. It might actually fit in another vk band's album ^^ Then ofcourse, Isshi starts singing... and we're back to the Kagrra we know ^^ Himitsu is an interesting track. The music is different from the rest of the album until it stabilises during the chorus...

11. Sarasouju no Komoriuta ~San remix~

Sarasouju will always sound beautiful no matter how many versions Kagrra, comes up with. The 2005 version sounds a lil different from the original that came out in 2001. Its more expressive... almost as if Isshi finally found a deeper connection and decided to remake it~ Beautiful song, Isshi sounds like a dream.

12. Arishihi no Bishou

A really nice and light song~ The music starts off as if Isshi's accompanying voice could float and fly off into the sky~ It makes me feel happy for some reason ^^ Arishishi always gets stuck in my head [maybe coz its the last track]. I like this track~ ^^ its so upbeat <3 *bounces*


Congratulations to Kagrra, for releasing a truly brilliant album~ When I first listened to this album, I nearly cried because it was so beautiful. Then I felt like screaming because it was THAT brilliant. I felt the same way when I first heard Satsuki... It was as if everything you've ever loved about Kagrra was multiplied by a million-fold and you're falling in love all over again. Those that were online with me when that happened would know how I was feeling~ ^^;;; Kagrra, had always been unique in their use of traditional Japanese music/instruments/influences. Isshi's lovely lovely voice can turn any horrendous song into a flawless tapestry of emotion and brilliance. Which is why he's now my most favourite vocalist ^_^ Each track on ~San~ stood well on its own and the entire album flowed perfectly. My dream Kagrra, album ^__^ until their next one tops this, that is~ lol.

Workload has been crazy. Malaysian weather has been awful and I'm not feeling all that well. Kelly and I have been camping out in the comp lab for the past week finishing up our presentation and other stuff [like that dumb tute we have to "transposon tag" every 2 weeks] =__= Not the healthiest of places really. She's been playing the music on my radioblog the whole time we're in there... so I think I had better change it before we get bored of the music <.<;;; I love Last In Blue~~ and Fragrance, and everything else ^__^;;; Put in Kodou for kicks, since there's nothing quite like Kyo & we all need good music to scream to [I have so much to scream about right now =__= I need to rant. I know I have lots to write about... but I cant seem to remember what. T_T Must be growing old. Anyways, I've not been updating lately 'coz well... I've been busy.

Anyways, Laine, Kelly, JV, and I went out for lunch last Wednesday [and got back a lil late for Bioprocess^^;;]. That quote given above came from when someone [I honestly cant remember who brought it up] started talking bout this particular girl in uni... and we dont understand how she can have one relationship a year, how she wrecks up their lives, and how her bf's are all such nice guys. Poor things...

We had our Yakult field trip on Monday ^^ Its part of the Bioprocess course and we [12 students and 2 lecturers] headed down to Seremban in a bus. Kelly and I sat in front and crapped all the way ^^ Lol. Yakult Malaysia is fairly new and the whole place actually looked sterile. As we stepped through the main doors of the building, I thought that even the air smelled NEW. We were ushered into the briefing room like thing... where the guide [she's REALLY good and seriously knows her stuff] told us bout Yakult, its founder, history, etc. and we were given a tour of the factory later. We watched the entire process through glass windows [ofcourse]. She explained the entire process, machines, production conditions to us. Rather impressive I must say ^^ Dr. Ooi found it very amusing that the class was so fascinated by the lil bottles dropping out of the moulding machine ^^ Those bottles were really cute. AND we found that the Japanese really knew how to make funky straws! <3 lol.

Oh, Kelly and I were wondering [among lotsa other stuff] on our way back from Yakult, what we'd like to have named after us... We came up with > nasty microorganisms, a city, a dog breed, flower? XD We both agreed that most of anything is fine as long as its not some microscopic worm species [which one of our biotech seniors actually had named after her a few years back]. I mean, what are the chances of anyone ever stumbling onto another similar specimen of that species on a daily basis? It IS microscopic.

I also found out that the air-conditioning in Mark's car actually works. Lol. Unlike the first time I was in your car, this time I didn't roast ^^ Thanx Mark~ For dropping me off again... <3
